[What is the Otemae experience?] A tea ceremony is a traditional Japanese ceremony in which the host entertains guests and serves them tea. It is also called "Chanoyu". It was developed by Sen no Rikyu, a tea master who was active from the Sengoku period to the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Today, there are multiple schools of tea ceremony such as Omote Senke, Ura Senke, and Mushakoji Senke, and the spirit of tea ceremony has been passed down to the present day. It is a popular part of Japanese culture, and you can experience it as a table tea ceremony at Vessel Hotel Campana Susukino's Otemae Experience.
